The Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt Hon. Philip Hammond MP meets with Apprentices in Lloyds Bank
On Thursday 17th May, The Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt Hon. Philip Hammond MP came to the Lloyds Banking Group office in Halifax. The Chancellor was in Halifax as part of a programme of activities designed to showcase the important role that the financial services sector plays in regional economies outside London. We were keen to make sure we spoke to the chancellor about the opportunities for Apprentices in Halifax, and Leeds which we offer.
Five of our apprentices got to meet him, all on different programmes from project management to apprenticeship degree in digital and It solutions.
The Chancellor was very down to earth and interested in the individual stories about how our apprentices got from college or uni or previous roles to the schemes we are on or have completed at LBG. Says Afeefa Ali: “I was able to talk to him about my journey through college studying sciences through to becoming an apprentice, and how I absolutely did not regret it, even now!”.
